This column is a general purpose column that incorporates 5% diphenyl substitution to improve the thermal stability of the traditional dimethyl siloxane phase. Like the SPB-1 phase, the SPB-5 column provide a boiling point elution order and a slight increase in selectivity, especially for aromatic compounds.
