Gas Traps, VACU-GUARD™ 150 - VACUGUARD™ 150 with Activated Carbon - 6722-1001

The VACU-GUARD™ line of filter devices combine the best of three classic chemical traps with proven vacuum protective (hydrophobic) Polytetrafluoroethylerne membrane. The Polytetrafluoroethylene membrane is built into a pleated cartridge and is permanently fuse bonded inside the base of the capsule. These types of chemical traps have been recommended by Menniger and Vilardi for protection of vacuum pumps and the environment, from their exhaust, when used to "polish" incoming air from an evaporation system. The activated carbon traps are recommended for organic vapors. Anhydrous calcium sulfate (molecular sieve) traps are recommended for organic and alkaline air streams. Silica aluminate zeolite (dessicant) traps are recommended for acidic air streams. The hydrophobic filter cartridge using pleated Polytetrafluoroethylene membrane is inside the housing and fuse bonded to the outlet of the capsule. This stops aqueous solutions and 99.99% of particulates 0.1 ?M in air/gas. Inlets of these traps are (½ inch) stepped barb connectors. Outlets are stepped barb connectors that will accept (3/8 to ½ inch) tubing sizes.
